Connect an AI Assistant

Use your building-automation data from Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral, Perplexity, and other MCP clients

Every assistant needs the MCP server URL below. How you authenticate depends on the client: Claude signs in with OAuth using the Client ID below, while ChatGPT, Mistral, and Perplexity use an API key (a Personal Access Token).

Create a Personal Access Token in the Token Manager and paste it as the API key. Treat it like a password, it grants access to your data.

With OAuth you sign in with your existing account and approve access once. No secret to manage, sign-in is secured with PKCE.

Claude OAuth

  1. Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name: iBOS Data.
  3. Remote MCP server URL: paste the URL above.
  4. Open Advanced settings → paste the OAuth Client ID above; leave OAuth Client Secret empty.
  5. Click Add, sign in, and approve access.

ChatGPT API key

  1. Create a token in the Token Manager and copy it.
  2. Settings → Connectors → Create / Add a custom connector.
  3. Name: iBOS Data.
  4. MCP server URL: paste the URL above.
  5. Authentication: API key, paste your token.
  6. Save; no sign-in step is needed.

Mistral (Le Chat) API key

  1. Create a token in the Token Manager and copy it.
  2. Settings → Connectors → Add connector (custom MCP).
  3. Name: iBOS Data.
  4. MCP server URL: paste the URL above.
  5. Authentication: API key / Bearer token, paste your token.
  6. Save; no sign-in step is needed.

Perplexity API key

  1. Create a token in the Token Manager and copy it.
  2. Settings → Connectors → Add connector (custom).
  3. Name: iBOS Data.
  4. MCP server URL: paste the URL above.
  5. Open Advanced: Authentication API key, paste your token; Transport Streamable HTTP.
  6. Save; no sign-in step is needed.

Using another AI assistant?

Most MCP-capable clients work with the server URL above plus either OAuth or an API key. If your client asks for an API key, create one in the Token Manager. If your provider is not listed here, or you cannot get it connected, email us at sm-se-support@nordomatic.com and we will help you set it up.

What you can ask

Once connected, the assistant can read, but never change your data. You only ever see the projects your account is authorized for. Try:

  • “List my projects.”
  • “Show the devices in project <name>.”
  • “What objects are on device <id>?”
  • “Plot the last 30 days of trending for object <id>.”
